A direct booking engine and hotel management platform for The Alps Hotel, Nakuru. Guests reserve rooms in real time while the front office runs availability, rates, and guest records from one dashboard, free of online travel agent commissions.
The Alps Hotel in Nakuru needed to stop renting its revenue from third parties. Vapor Technologies designed and built a custom booking and hotel management system that gives the property a direct, commission-free reservation channel on its own domain, backed by a single back office that the front desk runs every shift.
The result is one platform that does two jobs at once: it sells rooms to guests on the public website, and it gives the hotel team full operational control over inventory, rates, reservations, and guest records behind the scenes.
Before this engagement, The Alps filled rooms through phone calls, walk-ins, and online travel agents. That model carried three structural problems.
A clean, mobile-first website where prospective guests check live availability, compare room types and rates, and complete a reservation in a few steps. Availability is drawn in real time from the same inventory the front office manages, so what a guest sees online is always what the hotel actually has open.
A Filament v3 administrative dashboard that the hotel team uses to run daily operations from one screen: room and room-type inventory, rate management, a live reservation calendar, guest profiles, check-in and check-out handling, and booking status at a glance. The desk works from a single view instead of stitching together separate tools.
By moving bookings onto the hotel's own platform, every direct reservation keeps the full room rate inside the business rather than handing a cut to an intermediary. The system turns the website from a brochure into a working sales channel the hotel actually owns.
Each booking builds the hotel's own guest database, giving The Alps the foundation for direct rebooking, loyalty, and targeted offers without depending on an external platform's audience.
The platform is built on the Vapor Technologies standard stack, chosen for velocity, maintainability, and long-term control:
The Alps Hotel now owns its booking channel end to end. Guests reserve directly on the hotel's domain, the front office manages every room and rate from one back office, and the revenue that previously leaked to online travel agents stays with the business. The platform replaces fragmented manual processes with a single, reliable system the hotel controls outright.
