UI/UX Designer

About the Role

Vapor Technologies is looking for a UI/UX Designer to bring dedicated design capability in-house. Today, design work is handled ad hoc alongside development — this role changes that, giving our client proposals, product interfaces, and brand work the polish and speed that comes from a dedicated designer on the team.

What You'll Do

• Design high-fidelity UI mockups for client websites, dashboards, and admin panels
• Build and maintain design systems for client projects and Vapor's own product suite (Force HRM, and our growing micro-product line)
• Create wireframes and interactive prototypes for stakeholder review
• Collaborate closely with developers to ensure pixel-accurate implementation
• Support brand-aligned design work across proposals, pitch decks, and marketing collateral
• Conduct lightweight UX research and usability checks where needed

What We're Looking For

• Strong portfolio demonstrating UI design for web applications (SaaS or client work)
• Proficiency in Figma, including component libraries and design systems
• Understanding of responsive, mobile-first design patterns relevant to the Kenyan market
• Basic grasp of accessibility principles
• Comfortable working directly with developers and translating designs into implementation-ready specs

Design is currently one of Vapor's biggest leverage points — client pitches, product interfaces, and brand credibility all improve significantly with a dedicated designer in-house, rather than design being squeezed in around development work.

This is a hybrid role based in Nairobi, Kenya.
